The NamedPattern is an appropriation of the AlexandrianForm.

Summary

A common way to understand, record and communicate best practice, or solutions to recurring problems.

Problem

In comparison with everybody's experiences, our own are relatively limited. We desire to know how others do things, because we can't hope to solve all our problems alone from scratch.

Context

Life continues within recurring contexts of forces, whose degree of resolution determines the quality of life therein. When a way to do something well has been produced, it is normal to think that this way may be useful to others. People communicate with language.

Solution

Generalise the way by firstly describing the context according to the recurring forces in operation. Then, describe the pattern by describing the way to resolve those forces, or the way to operate in that context. Provide a name for this pattern. Record the pattern with 'Summary', 'Problem', 'Context', 'Solution', 'Resulting Context' headings. Over time, triangulate the pattern with related NamedPatterns to form a PatternLanguage.

Resulting Context

A rhizome of capabilities is constituted in practice, signified in language, and recorded in writing. The capacity for co-operation, or the means of our production, is extended. Having moved on, we all get to calm down.
